I'm a Filipino-American graphic designer currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Design is my second language. I generate messages that are both memorable and progressive. Storytelling is often the base of my ideas. It's my commitment to tell the truth and share my experience in everything I make. I'm devoted to what I do and I pride myself for being great at my work. My talent is not a commodity, but rather a byproduct of my personality and hard labor. Now is an exciting time for creativity through art and design. If you're someone looking for smart and savvy solutions, then let's get to know each other.

Gig Posters

From the acclaimed indie band, Passion Pit, comes a series of letterpress posters. Inspired from pop music, the playful composition mimics the band's music style which are quite charming and catchy. Metallic and subtle colors were combined, creating areas that appear to be both loud and muted simultaneously.

FRAME Magazine

Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Frame magazine is centered on design culture. It explores all aspects of interior design, architecture, product design, and exhibition design. Instructed to redesign the magazine, a modern serif typeface is being used on the headline showcasing a timeless aesthetic. In contrast, a sen-serif typeface brings a disciplined form surrounding the pages. The third color introduced accentuates the spreads to make it less mechanical and more inviting.

Sushi Time

A two part project that involves user interaction and usability plus a printed web proposal. The interactive project features steps on how to make sushi. It also provides information about the history, etiqutte, terminology, and artisty that surrounds this wonderful food. In addition, the proposal companion showcases the target market, the goals of the website, and an outline from start to finish of the interface design.

Type Collages

Using found typefaces from recycled paper, collages were assigned to express a visual poetry. Each piece reveals a personal exploration on the abstraction of memories in form and content. Derived from Ivan Chermayeff's art, the intent is to establish a strong voice and emotion in both theme and composition.

Visual Score

A visual score interpreted from a poem. Alan Lightman's Einstein's Dreams is the focal point of this short video. The premise of this piece is about time being frozen and being in that moment while everything is passing you by. The info design incorporates the length of time for the sequence of instruments and images.

Nolen Niu

This redesign of a premier furniture website serves the corporate, private, and celebrity clientele. Niu is a pioneer of contemporary design. He considers his work as a mulitdisclipinary practice in which aspects of various disciplines and construction are explored.

Graduation Invites

Designed with sophistication and clarity in mind, these letterpress invitations were made to look like vintage tickets. Honoring the Art Deco style, elements of glamour and elegance typically associated with the movement that are purely decorative.

Typeface Scarves

A type family inspired by the same name and kind of Japanese street style fashion. Decora-chan is a display, sans-serif font that captures the flair and attitude of this trend. Paying homage to the self obsessed youth in our society, it reflects an extreme decadence and indulgence.

Ujin Lee

Working with a contemporary painter, Ujin Lee, I set out to design her promotional flyer for her installation viewing at Washington Square Park. The Bojagi project was a performance piece that involved stacking and placing hand-carry sized boxes. Each box was wrapped with traditional Korean wrapping cloth, or bojagi, made of satin. When the boxes were all in place, the public were welcomed to walk through the installation. After the viewing, visitors were encouraged to choose any of the boxes to take home.

Howard Johnson Hotel

Howard Johnson Hotel assigned Berlin Cameron United with the opportunity to help brand their Double Dribble special offer. With the help of an art director, my goals were to maintain and focus the energy of the logo to a sports oriented and speedy traveling audience.
